Bruges, Belgium
Bruges looks like it was plucked out of a children's fairy tale. Colorful buildings, cobblestone streets, and canals dot the city. It's on the smaller side so walking to each historical landmark is definitely doable. The ornate City Hall is a must-see: it's covered in gold. By climbing 366 steps up the Belfry Tower it's possible to get a 360 degree view of the entire city. Get there early though, the line is usually long. If that isn't enough to convince you to visit, go for the fries and waffles. So good.
