Rouen, France
Rouen is the capital of the Normandy region in France and is located on the Seine River. It's only a few hours from Paris, but the two cities are incredibly different. Rouen Cathedral is one of the best showcases of Gothic architecture and during the summer a light show is displayed on the side of the 4th century building. Walk down the cobblestone streets and see historical landmarks, such as Joan of Arc's execution spot (OK, morbid) or the birthplace of Richard the Lionheart (less morbid).
