Torun, Poland
Located in northern Poland, Torun is one of the oldest and well maintained cities in the country after surviving WWII. In 2007 it was considered a UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site. Famous astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus, the guy who proved the Earth rotated around the sun, was born here and his 15th century home is now a museum. Visitors can also tour the ruins of the Teutonic Knights' castle while enjoying Torun's famous gingerbread.
