Four Loko
Most of us remember not to long ago when the word "Four Loko" was at the tip of everyone's tongue." Its reputation alone arose curiosity in even the mildest of drinkers, driving them to want to try out the so-called "blackout in a can." The brand even developed a cult following with people creating costumes and these guys who created
an ode to "Four Loko."
The obsession with the beverage was due to the fact that each can contained 12% alcohol and was a cheap, quick way to get drunk. Reports of alcohol poisoning, blackouts and even death were linked to the drinks. Much of this was because it also contained caffeine and it's fruity flavors caused people to consume more than they knew. Eventually the drink was banned causing the company to later introduce a much lesser version of the drink without caffeine.
