Bay Burger manages to be both an every man's and locavore's culinary boner, for everything -trademark 1/3lb all beef patties, grilled cheese, hand cut fries, veggie burgers, bread, buns, homemade ice cream, wine, beer, and produce, is either homemade or locally-sourced.
Given its conceivers -- Chef Joe Tremblay used to helm the grill at Le Parker Meridian's Burger Joint and his wife Liza's a graduate of the Institute of Culinary Education, the quality and pureness of the food isn't all that surprising. Picture an In-and-Out without the "and-Out,"
a comfortable, casual space with an excellent, simple menu. The reasonable prices (a loaded burger is just $6.50), are somewhat, especially considering the area, and the X-Box 360 and 50'' plasma are smart touches. On Thursdays, BB gets even better: live music from 7pm on, usually provided by local musicians. Blues, acoustic rock, and bluegrass bands have all found their way to BB, as have hopeful jammers. Bring your friends with musical aspirations --you can reward them for their efforts with free tater tots.
Bay Burger is number 1742 off the Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike.
