Le Bal Des Debutantes or Paris Crillon Ball, Paris
Le Bal Des Debutantes, also known as the Paris Crillon Ball, is one of the top social events in the world. It is held at one of the oldest luxury hotels in Paris, the Hotel de Crillon, in a ballroom overlooking the majestic Place de la Concorde. It was brought to Paris in the late 1950s but was revamped in 1992. The tradition of white gowns and tiaras combines with a humanitarian aspect, as the money raised each year at the event is donated to various organizations, such as Lauren Bush Lauren’s Feed Foundation in 2011 (Lauren made her debut at le Bal in 2000).
Le Bal follows in that tradition, including not only European aristocrats such as the Windsor family, but also Hollywood royalty, like the daughters of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, Clint Eastwood, actress Lily Collins herself, and even JFK’s niece, Kyra Kennedy. All the girls often dress in haute couture gowns from Paris’s most prestigious houses garnered with glimmering jewels. As lavish as this debutante ball is, it is meant to serve a good cause and the proceeds are donated to the select charity of that year.
