Since its completion in 1986 the Lotus Temple has won multiple architectural awards and has gained a reputation as one of the foremost attractions in India. The temple does not discriminate, and is open for people of all religions to worship their God. The structure consists of 27 free-standing marble petals, forming nine sides. to accompany the nine sides, there are nine surrounding ponds as well as beautiful gardens which round out the 26 acre property.
