Initially built as the Arzak family home in 1897, Arzak was turned into a wine inn and tavern before finally becoming a 3-star Michelin restaurant. Run by the dynamic father-daughter duo, Juan Mari and Elena Arzak, this San Sebastian landmark is deemed the pioneer of molecular gastronomy. Do not be fooled by the seemingly traditional Basque dishes that you see on the menu. While the core of Arzak’s cuisine is indeed Basque, Juan Mari and Elena offer a modern upgrade of the familiar.
