Base Jumping The KL Tower: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
For the sake of art: a pretty good excuse to throw yourself off a 300 m high building in Malaysia. B.A.S.E jumping is the art of jumping off of fixed objects with a parachute - base stands for buildings, antennas, span (bridges), and earth (cliffs). This year marks the 12th anniversary of the KL Tower jump and from September 27-30, 100 jumpers from over 19 different countries will spend four days leaping off this Malaysian tower. Because of the lower altitudes than sky diving, base jumpers rarely achieve terminal velocity but their slower speeds enable them to move their bodies in the air so they can do cool tricks during their free fall.
