el Coctel
This cocktail bar in the French Concession remains a favourite of the trendy expatriate and artsy local set. It is designed like a library, with comfortable leather couches, dark furniture, and dim lighting. It does its name justice, as the cocktails are inspired by Tokyo’s Ginza district and only uses top-shelf liquor, freshly squeezed juices, and hand-cut ice. el Cóctel is like a friend’s posh living room that you just do not welant to leave. Make sure you get there at a reasonable time, as you’ll want to have a table in this living room where people end up lingering in for hours.
