Trinidad and Tobago
Do you enjoy good music and want to take part in a Caribbean festival? Then get yourself to Trinidad & Tobago, two of the most affordable islands in the Caribbean. Here, the locals are welcoming and the island is full of day-time activities. Check out the local museums for some avant garde island art or the Hindu temples in Trinidad for a dose of culture. For an adventure off the beaten path, you can visit the mud volcanoes and famed Argyll Falls.
If you're heading to Trinidad in the end of March, you'll also be able to catch the Phagwah festival (one that rivals Carnivale). Locals celebrate the festival of Phagwah, a colorful Hindu tradition welcoming spring by way of song and dance. The highlight of the festival? Locals will throw colorful dyes and powder at each other for an adult mud fight.
