The Myrtles Plantation
Located near Baton Rogue, Louisiana, this former plantation is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and operates as an historic bed and breakfast...but only the bravest travelers dare book a room. Originally built in 1796, the plantation is now home to 12 ghosts and is touted as one of America's most haunted homes. 10 murders have occurred in the home, but it's the murder of William Winter that is most present on the plantation. Even the crew that filmed an episode of
Unsolved Mysteries at the home in 2002 reported technical difficulties, supposedly due to the ghosts. The hotel now offers guided haunted tours on the plantation, playing up their own spooky history.
