Hotel Jerome
Hotel Jerome, having opened in 1889, is one of Aspen's most historic landmarks-- and also one of it's most haunted. Currently, locals and celebrities alike mingle at the Jerome, just as they've been doing for over 100 years, but a horrific accident that happened at the hotel in 1936 still haunts its patrons. That year, the 10-year-old son of a family staying in Room 310 drowned in the hotel's pool. Many visitors have reported seeing the boy's ghost; wet, wrapped in a towel, and shivering. He doesn't speak, but he leaves behind a trail of wet footprints when he disappears. The boy has come to be known as "water boy," but he's not the only ghost haunting the halls. Henry O'Callister, who lived in the Jerome hotel in the early 1900s after making a fortune off of a 1,500 pound silver nugget he found, is said to wander through the hotel at night, sobbing over the woman he loved but never married.
