Hotel del Coronado
Sitting on the beach right outside of San Diego, Hotel del Coronado is one of the top beach resorts in the US, but that luxury comes at a price. In the early 20th century, the Hotel del Coronado was home to business people who traveled between the East and West coast, spending a few months on each coast. The hotel even had a school for the children staying there long-term. It's been years since the hotel has hosted long-term guests, but some of them seem to have never checked out. One of the most chilling stories that haunts the Coronado is that of Kate Morgan, who checked into the hotel in 1892. The man she loved was supposed to be meeting her at the hotel, but he never showed up. She waited for him for five days, and when he never arrived, Kate killed herself and was found dead at the bottom of a staircase leading to the beach. Guests and employees have reported seeing a Kate, dressed in a black lace gown, hanging around the hotel or on the beach, and even playing tricks visitors.
