X-Files Returns Tonight: Do You Still Believe?

For me, the return of The X-Files tonight is like the Second Coming. I’ve watched the premiere when it aired and would spend many a grounded Friday night watching the first four seasons of the series. Since I got Netflix six years ago, I’ve passed out to The X-Files every single night. Mark Snow’s atmospheric soundtrack and Mulder and Scully’s monotone deliveries has been my Lunesta. Even while touring the country with my music group Normaling, after every show, back at the hotel, I would pull out my iPad, put on my headphones and let The Truth carry me to unconsciousness.

When Guest of a Guest DC editor, Jessica Hoy, asked me to write something about The X-Files’ return on January 23rd, my response was “you’ve gotta give me a word count. Otherwise, you’re going to get War And Peace….and Aliens.” Lucky for you, Jess said to just give my Top 10 favorite X-Files episodes and a brief description on each. So here it is - twenty some years of X-Files viewing boiled down to a Top 10 list to prepare you for Sunday’s new X-Files episode.
