Pop stars, supermodels, heiresses, and royals (from at least three different countries) all laced up their finest snow boots this weekend for the blowout wedding of Dasha Zhukova and Stavros Niarchos in oh-so-glam Swiss ski town, St. Moritz.
Zhukova, of course, is the Russian-born, New York-based businesswoman, art collector, and founder of both Garage Magazine and the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow. She was formerly wed to billionaire oligarch Roman Abramovich. Niarchos, if you remember, was the Greek shipping heir It Boy of the early aughts - he dated everyone from Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan to Mary-Kate Olsen back in the day. (Glad to see he's finally settling down!)
While the couple said "I do" in a civil ceremony in Paris this past October, the wait to celebrate has clearly been worth it. The $6.5 million, days-long affair kicked off with a surprise ceremony on Friday (a day earlier than guests expected) at a special spot near the Olympaschanze ski jump, followed by a full-on Russian-themed fete straight out of a Tolstoy novel. The guest list, around 300 strong, includes the likes of Karlie Kloss and Katy Perry (as well as their beaus, Joshua Kushner and Orlando Bloom), Princess Beatrice, Princess Alexandra of Hanover, the Greek Royal Family, Tabitha Simmons, Stella McCartney, Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert, Derek Blasberg, Gayle King, Wendi Deng, Sara and Erin Foster, and Stella Maxwell.
Just about everyone you follow on Instagram seems to be living their best life in the Alpine town, flitting from the plush Kulm Hotel (which is owned by the groom's family) to the snowy slopes - which, lucky for us, means we can snag a social media peek inside the festivities.
