One of London's richest socialites said "I do" this weekend with a lavish affair hosted... in her own backyard?!
Well, when your home is a £170million Georgian mansion complete with stunning manicured gardens, it likely beats any other venue in town.
F1 heiress Petra Ecclestone, the daughter of racing billionaire Bernie Ecclestone, tied the knot with businessman beau Sam Palmer this weekend in the privacy and comfort of their own home. But that's not to say the weekend's celebrations were anything short of extravagant.
Located in London's posh Chelsea neighborhood, their manse was transformed into wedding heaven with thousands of white flowers and crystal chandeliers galore. The couple exchanged vows backed by a string quartet, and, following the al fresco ceremony, joined their guests for dinner, dancing, and a live performance by English indie rock band Razorlight. Between turns on the dance floor, the newlyweds posed with the 1980 FA Cup, the Petra's buzzed-about gift to her soccer-loving hubby.
For the main event, the bride wore a fitted lace-detailed gown complete with floral appliques, accessorizing with a diamond-encrusted tiara. For their trip to the registrar's office to make things official, the bride wore a chic, silky slip dress, which she also donned for the day's intimate backyard luncheon.
