Shooting to Stardom

Shooting to Stardom
-In March 2013, Lorde's debut EP, The Love Club, was officially released digitally, and was released on CD that May. -With her velvety voice and clever, catchy lyrics, it's no wonder the then-16 year old skyrocketed to the top of the charts, not only down under, but in the U.S. as well. -Of the five tracks on the EP, "Royals" is probably (definitely) the one you've had stuck in your head since it peaked at number one on the Billboard charts this fall (beating out both Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus AND earning her the title of youngest chart-topper in over 25 years). -On September 27 of this year, Lorde debuted her first studio album, Pure Heroine, featuring many of the artsy, ambient, indie-pop tracks of her EP. Its lush, dark undertones have garnered the album comparisons to the work of Adele and Lana Del Rey. [Photo via]
