Prada for The Great Gatsby
The 2013 movie adaptation of this great American novel will probably not go down in history as the best film Baz Luhrmann ever made, (to be fair, it'd be pretty hard to beat The Red Curtain Trilogy) but the entire thing is a gorgeous work of art. That especially includes the female characters' luxurious costumes designed by Catherine Martin and Miuccia Prada. The duo worked together altering pieces from Prada and Miu Miu archives, so it made perfect sense to bring Miuccia onto the project. Their collaboration resulted in embellished dresses covered in everything from sequins and crystals to fringe and fur, reflecting the European decadence that was taking over East Coast aristocratic society in the '20s.
