Beaches

Silver beach: Get there via Crabcreek Street. It is very private there, either with very few people or nobody and it’s really nice and relaxing. The sunset is incredible. My house is very close by so we go there every day.

Shell beach: So beautiful! There are two beaches here one on each side of the island.

Sunset Beach: The scene in the summer. You can have drinks and lunch or dinner at the restaurant and enjoy the beach.

Hay Beach on Menhaden Lane: It has no services and is not a bathing beach. It does have nesting areas for piping lovers and incredible views of Gardiner’s Bay, the lighthouse known as Bug Light, and the meandering coastline leading to Orient Point on the North Fork

The Ram’s Head Inn on the island’s eastern end. The views are incredible. There is a little private beach

Shelter Island Kayak: If open, it is amazing. They can bring the kayaks to the beach for you, you just need to call them and give them notice.
