Koch Brothers Taking On Southampton!

I just received the official scoop on Derek and Daniel Koch's (the brother's behind, among other things, the "Day & Night" Merkato 55 brunches) summer plans. They will be opening their very own restaurant/beach club at Pink Elephant in Southampton! From the twins:

"For the past few months, we have been creating and building our very own Day & Night Restaurant & Beach Club at the Pink Elephant inside and outside the walls of The Capri Hotel in Southampton, New York.

As you can imagine, this is a huge project for us and will bring us one step closer to our aspirations in this industry we love so much. We wanted to thank you for your friendship and support, we never could have done it without you."

Get excited. Because we are. Summer is almost here, and you can expect more than a couple "Best $2k" shots from the Capri. This is the best thing that Pink Elephant could have chosen to do. Fresh blood. Hello Make Over.

Expect the outdoor patio area to be one of our official favorite late night hang outs.

For the past several years, you have helped us grow into what has become “a lifestyle we could have never of imagined”. We could have never ventured alone. We have shared laughs, stories, thoughts and most importantly friends amongst great times we will never forget. Recently, as the summer season approaches us, we have been working very hard on something amazing that will allow our relationship to explore new horizons. Sure, we thought about doing a brunch early on in the day, we thought about doing a nightclub later on at night, we had many thoughts and explored all options…but when it came down to it, we wanted to do something that would satisfy all of your wants in one day at one place.

We thought about “you” and how you have helped us become who we are today. We thought about how “we all” formed a weekly day-party in NYC that’s insane, and how it is the way we live our lives; dancing on tables & chairs – having fun in real time. So we needed to add something special to our lives when we’re away from the city that would further represent our lifestyle in which we have created “together”. Therefore, we are pleased to let you know that we will be expanding our lifestyle, “Day & Night” to Southampton in the summer season of 2009.
