South Pointe Swoops In To Replace Former RdV East Nightclub

by Chelsea Burcz · May 19, 2011

Southampton is welcoming new nightlife this summer, first with the renovations at the Capri, and now with the introduction of a new nightclub, South Pointe, taking over the former RdV East spot (also formerly known as the Tavern). So what can we expect with the third transformation of 125 Tuckahoe Road? Not a tiki bar apparently!!!!

UPDATE: So apparently, there is not tiki bar anymore!? WTF!?

Originally the vibe was pitched as such,

"Old world class is to be reborn with a modern vintage chic design with lush booth style seating, ornate Victorian fabrics, crystal chandeliers and mix of antique mirrors & modern art will adorn the walls. The spacious Caribbean inspired outdoor deck will feature a tikki bar, cabana beds and potted palm trees..."

Is it because Curbed made fun of them? Personally, I was excited to see a tiki bar in the Hamptons! And I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a karaoke bar too! Now instead of "Caribbean" it will be "St. Tropez" inspired. Hmm....

"The spacious St. Tropez inspired outdoor deck will feature a bar, cabana beds and potted palm trees..."

When? The club will be kicking off Memorial Day weekend.

"South Pointe will kick off the party Memorial Day Weekend with DJ David Berrie on Friday night followed by Funkagenda on Saturday and reeling in the weekend with a bang by bringing in world renowned DJ, Calvin Harris Sunday night. Open every night that weekend from 10 PM- 4 AM. Saturdays thereafter they will open their doors at 11 PM and stay open until 4 AM."

I guess we will see if this newcomer can keep up with the Hamptons crowd and stick around for good!
