Martha Stewart Dishes On The Best Party She's Ever Thrown

Martha Stewart is full of surprises. Like that time she organized her kitchen and found 39 different kinds of salt... Or that time she posted a pool thirst trap photo and the world lost its shit...

One thing though that should come as absolutely no surprise is the lifestyle icon's penchant for parties. In a recent interview with PureWow, Martha dished on the details of the best soirée she's ever hosted. And no it wasn't some stuffy sit down dinner with caviar service, or a Christmas party with a thousand different types of cookies she baked herself!

“One of the best parties I ever had was on Lily Pond Lane in East Hampton when I had just finished construction and the house was still empty—I was buying furniture rather slowly because I didn't know what I wanted in that big house. I had a great big 50th birthday party and that was the most fun because we had fantastic South American music. We had the Cutchogue barbecue come and do the barbecue chicken. We had the Blue Parrot do the blue margaritas. It was quite a party.”

So there you have it. To throw the ultimate birthday bash all you'll need is a live band, fabulous caterers, an endless supply of margaritas - oh, and an empty Hamptons mansion.

Easy enough, no?
