Slide #1
It’s only 11pm and I’m running ahead of schedule to meet my contact at LAVO. I figure if anything I’ll grab a drink at the bar upstairs and kill time. I round the corner of 58th and Madison and see a massive crowd outside the door, literally taking up half the block. I guess I’m not as early as I thought.
I link up with my contact Adam of PLEXI PR. We attempt to part the masses and reach the door. The growing crowd is getting testy, aggressively jockeying for position to try to get the attention of the doorman. One guy literally throws his shoulder into me and steps in front of me blocking my path. I give him a wink, as I inevitably slide by him after getting the go-ahead from the door staff.
One of the things that I love about Strategic venues is their extreme attention to detail. As I enter LAVO, a beautiful hostess says, “Welcome to Tiesto.” I head to the bar to grab a drink. All the waitresses, bartenders, and go-go dancers don “I Love Tiesto” T Shirts. It’s still really early so I hang out by the railing overlooking the dance floor and soak in the scene.
