Le Baron (2012-2015)

Street artist and nightlife impresario André Saraiva was the person to know during those years in New York when all the cool kids seemed to be vaguely French and run in the same circle. After previously working with Paul Sevigny at the iconic Beatrice Inn, Saraiva brought us the short-lived but decade-defining Chinatown outpost of Le Baron, his international nightclub brand that had gained a reputation for glamour and exclusivity from its locations in London, Tokyo, and Paris. On its much-anticipated opening night in NYC, a person in a bunny suit worked the door (and probably rejected you). What followed were over two years of no-photos-allowed debauchery in the three-level, red-neon-tinted space.
