Tiesto DJs For Huge Crowd At LAVO On Wednesday Night

Lavo is known for bringing some of the biggest names in Electronic music to New York City, but last night was something special. Strategic Group opened this midtown powerhouse nightclub on a Wednesday and brought along someone we all know and love, Tiesto, to DJ for the night.

The door was packed starting at 10:30 and didn't let up until around 3:30 in the morning. After working my way through the sea of people to the front of the line, I was greeted by the charming Richard Wheeler (also the founder of the clothing line Hous) and was let through the gates, well...ropes, of Lavo. Entrance was strictly guest list only and to get on the list one would had to have purchased tickets prior to the event or have bottle service reservations.

The door at Lavo this evening was so tight that even air had a hard time getting in. Down the stairs led to a packed bar area where the early birds were chatting and mingling waiting for the main event to begin. The club's dance floor soon became packed at 11:30 and those who purchased bottle service began arriving at 12. The great part about Lavo is that even the DJs who open for the big name players are outstanding and everyone was on their feet dancing away waiting for Tiesto's arrival. The club was at full capacity around 1 AM and then it happened...Tiesto stepped into the booth and the crowd went wild. Lavo's laser show, LED screen display, glow sticks and Co2 tanks were in full effect and added to the rave like atmosphere of the club. Tiesto's set was incredible to say the least as he played some of his popular songs as well mixing in other beloved house hits.

What really made the night special was the energy that Tiesto had when he is manning the booth. He truly enjoys what he does and the crowd simply feeds off of his love and passion for music. Also, the staff at Lavo truly know how to cater to their clientele and make everyone's night pleasant and enjoyable. When I left around 3:30, there were still a swarm of people trying to get in to what was certainly one of the best parties in New York. Lavo always knows how to throw a great party and this wild hump day was no exception.
