The Internet's biggest, wittiest, and nerdiest stars took over Cipriani's on Wall St. last night, and it wasn't some kind of coup, just the Oscars of the Web aka the 13th Annual Webby Awards. Don't think you're alone in wondering about the event's location. Awards MC, SNL's Seth Meyers, poked fun at the fancy venue: "Nothing says ingenuity and forward thinking like Wall Street," he joked in the opening monologue. "Were there no rooms available in Detroit?" And, to balance out the geek factor, a bunch of supermodels showed up, including new momma Alessandra Ambrosio. Check out more pics and the list of winners...

One new category introduced this year was "Webby for Internet famous," for those stars whose work earned them an online following. Acceptance speeches were, of course, limited to five words and Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the man credited for starting the Web, was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. We're sure he was the only person who can lay claim to this honor.
