Bribes, flattery, years-long waiting lists. Considering the whole nightmare rigmarole of purchasing an Hermès Birkin straight from the source, it's no wonder status-seeking fashionistas have tapped alternative sources for, quite literally, securing the bag. The only issue? One may end up paying the big bucks for a glorified Canal Street knockoff.

It's a lesson some designer darlings had to learn the hard way after wheeling and dealing with socialite-slash-purse peddler George Mickum.

The 30-year-old hanger-on of heiresses has allegedly been scamming his blue blooded posse of friends out of thousands of dollars by selling them fake Birkins, per a report by Page Six. FYI, the publication has mischaracterized George as a "Guest of a Guest writer" - he is not. Since they clearly couldn't name names when it comes to the high-profile women who got f*cked over (legal reasons?), we suppose they had to use ours for clout. We're flattered.
