Lounging around in our palace gardens, picking fresh oranges from our personal grove, traipsing through Tuscany then horseback riding in California... yeah, that sounds like the ultimate summertime dream. And while, fine, not all of us can escape to a centuries-old castle that boasts our family's name, we can still try to channel the lavish-but-languid lifestyle of Melusine Ruspoli, the 26-year-old Italian princess (turned model, naturally) who shares peeks into her glamorous world on Instagram.
The young aristocrat is the daughter of French model Theresa Genest and the late Alessandro "Dado" Principe Ruspoli (a.k.a. the Prince of Cerveteri), who was known as an eccentric playboy in his day, running with the likes of Brigitte Bardot, Salvador Dalí, and Truman Capote in the 1950s and '60s. His daughter from his third marriage, Princess Melusine was born in Paris and raised amidst the upper crust between France and her ancestral home, Casello Ruspoli in Italy, a medieval castle known for its sprawling Renaissance Gardens.
While, in the before times, Melusine was quite the girl about town, making her society debut at the Bal des Débutantes, walking the runway for Dolce & Gabbana, attending fashion bashes galore, and rubbing elbows with British socialites like Lady Kitty Spencer and Amelia Windsor, she (like all of us) seemed to slow down this past year, instead indulging in plenty of idyllic R&R.
