How Society Decorator David Netto Epically Refused To Work With Candace Owens

If you've ever had the pleasure of snacking on canapés in a Park Avenue penthouse or checking into a guest room at a breezy Hamptons summer home, chances are you've come across the work of David Netto.

The A-list interior designer is indeed a social set favorite, working with haute hostesses like Jessica Seinfeld and Lauren Santo Domingo, along with a slew of other high-profile clients. But as the décor pro has demonstrated, he won't work with just anyone.

Especially not someone who spews hateful rhetoric for a living. Like, for example, Candace Owens.

As the outspoken right-wing pundit recently lamented to Vanity Fair, Netto refused to lend his services to her and her husband, British entrepreneur George Farmer (who happens to run the parent company of conservative social media platform Parler) - and he expressed his distaste for the couple in no uncertain terms.

After seeing his work at a friend's home, Owens and her husband looked to Netto to help design their Nashville residence. But upon emailing him, they received a clapback worthy of a standing ovation.

"Dear George," Netto reportedly wrote back to Owens' husband, "Thank you for your inquiry. I'd rather get beat in the a** with a wooden plank than ever go near either of you. Kind regards, David."

    Bravo!

While they were, of course, incensed by the response, Netto defended his position when reached for comment. "After January 6, the joke’s over. People like this should expect to be recognized as complicit with something very dangerous... and expect to be told off in polite society."

He added, "Without Parler the Proud Boys couldn’t talk to each other, so that’s enough for me."

Sounds like his good taste extends far beyond interiors.
