Meanwhile, Rockefeller cousins Rebecca Rockefeller Lambert and Peter Gill Case have launched The Equation Campaign, an "initiative working to bring about a safe and just future by enhancing the power of movements to keep oil and gas in the ground."
They've pledged $30 million of their own dough over the next 10 years to help fund on-the-ground resistance led by youth activists, indigenous land protectors, and people in the communities most effected by the fossil fuel industry. "Yet the truth is that in the climate crisis, we are all on the frontline," the campaign's mission statement reads. "None of us can escape the impacts of climate change. Together, we can avert the worst of it."
