Recent surveys say that 1 in 3 employees will refuse to come back if their workplaces don't offer remote options in the near future. Among them, of course, are the wealthier senior level execs who don't really need to worry about job insecurity.
The advertising exec told VF that the whole situation has most higher-ups saying, "fuck it. I’m not going to move back to the city last minute," while another Hamptons transplant said, "if my company says, ‘return to the office,’ I simply won’t show up." After all, she's already spent $650 on a vegetable share from a local farm and $500 for seasonal beach parking.
