Her New Age Proclivities Were (Are?)...Intense
Her tendency towards New Age beliefs influenced everything from the company culture of WeWork to the locations of cellular antennae in New York. According to stories from past employees, Rebekah hired and fired people based on their "energy" alone and refused to have any "hard surfaces" in her office, instead hosting meetings on an oversized pink sofa while she lounged on a sheepskin rug.
She insisted that all the technology she used was white, and once had employees disassemble her phone, paint all the parts white, and reassemble it again. When a 5G antenna was installed near the family's sprawling Gramercy Park home, she enlisted WeWork executives to try to have it moved.
Despite some reports to the contrary, Rebekah has claimed that she stopped eating meat when she was 12, and once preached the idea that eating "sad" animals makes a person sad because you "absorb the energy" of your food.
