It was a rough 2020 for Claudio Del Vecchio, the billionaire Italian eyewear heir who made his own stamp in the fashion world as the owner of Brooks Brothers for the past two decades. Last year, the brand filed for bankruptcy, was sold to new owners, and switched up its executive team. But worry not - the guy certainly has a substantial nest egg to fall back on.
We're talking, of course, about Cedar Hill, Del Vecchio's palatial estate spanning over eight acres on Long Island's tony Gold Coast. The businessman has officially put the home on the market with an asking price of $12.5 million. Not bad for a little extra pocket-padding.
The plush property includes stunning English gardens, a tennis court, pool, and putting green. And while the facade of the 13,000-square-foot mansion is all buttoned-up red brick and tradition, the interiors are a bit more eclectic. Rooms range from rustic hunting lodge to Palm Beach sunroom to French cottage, with over-the-top amenities which include a wine cellar and tasting room, indoor pool, and, get this, a dog spa.
As for the closet space for suits? Unsurprisingly, it does not disappoint.
