Andre's Cafe
Head to the Upper East Side/Yorkville for a true Hungarian crepe. Andre's has Hungarian crepes with a paprika-spiced chicken, cheese with dill and bacon, and a pepper stew. If you want to feel like you are in Budapest, there is Hungarian salami (served cold), and Korozott, a feta and cream cheese blend, sometimes made with goat cheese. But when it comes to true Hungarian comfort food, the veal goulash or noodles served with farmers cheese, bacon and sour cream are the best ways to feel like you're in a Hungarian's kitchen. Andre's serves as a bakery as well, offering up loads of European sweets.
