Anyway Cafe
A more folksy version of the Russian experience is eating and drinking the night away while listening to live music at the Anyway Cafe. The restaurant, charming with it's low-lighting and wooden interior, strives for the days of Dostoevsky.
Anyway Cafe has a slight French influence, but it's menu stays close to home with pelmeni, the Russian pierogi, and infused vodkas. Before ordering pemenis, start with the zakuskis, Russian hors d'oeuvres. Or Russian crepes with salmon caviar. The black bread with homemade
pâté goes well with the apricot, black currant, or lychee infused vodkas, all of which can be done as shots or in carafes.
