If you caught last night's epic Shakira/Jennifer Lopez concert (which was, for some reason, punctuated by a few rounds of football), there are probably a few things you can't stop thinking about. Shakira's abs for one, or J. Lo's insane thigh strength, or the fact that both of these women are 43 and 50 years old, respectively. But, leave it to the internet to home in on one moment in particular: the "tongue thing" heard 'round the world.
The warbling, turkey-like sound made by Shakira definitely had Super Bowl partiers scratching their heads, although it turns out it was probably a nod to her Lebanese heritage; many pointed out that it was similar to a "zaghrouta," an expression of joy and celebration in Middle Eastern cultures.
However, that didn't stop the sound from blowing up on social media and birthing a whole new genre of meme.
