St. Moritz, Switzerland

St. Moritz — where do I even begin to start? The skiing is superb. The scenery, no matter the season, is a knockout: winter and early spring see the area blanketed in snow, summer is pleasantly verdant and the perfect time to stroll down the path along St. Moritz's centerpiece lake St. Moritzersee, and fall is replete with red, orange, and yellow foliage. Unapologetically, one of my favorite St. Moritz perks is its pedestrian-friendly town and all the shopping opportunities that come with it. My go-to is Modes, a chic boutique that carries upmarket accouterments from various luxe European brands, both well-known and up-and-coming.

It's a toss-up when it comes to my preferred place to stay. Grand Hotel Kronenhof — located in Pontresina, a short drive from St. Moritz — is a five-star Swiss grand dame hotel (while it's over a century old, it was recently renovated by Designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, who is known for his impressive interior design portfolio, from Four Seasons George V in Paris to Waldorf Astoria in Beverly Hills). Should you want to stay within walking distance of St. Moritz's locus, opt to book the iconic Kulm Hotel, with its resplendent indoor pool and multi-faceted spa.
