SNL aspirants and scouters alike have taken to Second City's backstage and back seats for decades, with breakout stars such as Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Mike Meyers, Chris Farley, and other comedic geniuses (not to mention most of the original cast) owing their roots to the Chicago comedy club. After auditioning for Michaels on the SNL stage this summer, Second City troupe members Aidy Bryant, Cicely Strong and Tim Robinson will have their studio 8H debuts.
