Gueliz
The ‘new’ town of Marrakech is a world away from the Medina. By day, Gueliz is the shopping hub, with shopping malls and numerous high street shops such as Zara dotted all over. By night, Gueliz turns into a bustling playground for locals and expatriates, with numerous al fresco cafes and bouncers in black suits standing next to velvet ropes.
Outdoor cafes are cleverly positioned next to clubs, so party-goers can take a quick food break. Drop by Le Comptoir after midnight for some shisha in their courtyard or head straight up to their club area. Alternatively, check out Villa Rosa - a supper-club eerily similar to Cafe Costes in Paris - for dinner and a low-key hangout.
