When life hands you lemons, make a whiskey sour! That's always been my personal spin on the old adage, but is it whiskey or whisky?! Being a fan of a stiff bourbon drink, I've recently realized that there are two spelling variations of the booze. Naturally, I inquired to Google and found that there is a heated cyber debate over the proper spelling, whiskey vs. whisky. From my research, it seems to break down to this: whisky, lacking the e, denotes a Scotch whisky, while whiskey denotes the Irish and American liquors. Since I'm not partial to either side of the debate, I consider myself a fan across the board and rounded up some of my favorite spots in DC to partake in a little whisk(e)y business.
