Phenomenal Woman Action Campaign

In 2017, Meena founded the Phenomenal Woman Action Campaign, a social justice startup inspired by Maya Angelou’s “Phenomenal Woman” poem that boasts bold merch and A-list ambassadors including Serena Williams, Jessica Alba, Mark Ruffalo, and Tracee Ellis Ross. The campaign has supported various causes and nonprofits, such as Black Futures Lab, Native Voices Rising, and Families Belong Together. In September 2018, the Phenomenal Woman Action Campaign coordinated a powerful full-page ad in the New York Times with signatures of 1,600 men showing their support for Christine Blasey Ford, and survivors everywhere.

This is my Resting Dissent Face. 👹 Super excited to partner with @bananarepublic to re-issue RBG’s original dissent collar in support of the @aclu_nationwide Women’s Rights Project, which was co-founded by Justice Ginsburg early in her career to fight for gender equality and women’s economic rights through systematic legal reform. Fun fact: my mom used to be director of the ACLU’s Racial Justice Project, and needless to say, I’m proud to support their critical and urgent work to defend and protect all of us. (And if you don’t yet have the @phenomenal RBG leggings, you are seriously missing out!)
