What inspired you to make this a mother-daughter duo?
Michele Bass: Alex and I had both been wanting to turn our passions into a business for years. Since Alex just graduated college, we decided to launch this project right away and test the waters. Alex has always been interested in art and has an amazing eye for it, especially from studying it in school. Personally, I have always had a love for baking and wanted to open up a concept shop to sell my desserts and other accessories. We merged these ideas and came up with Salon 21. As mother and daughter, we inspire one another and always push each other to succeed, and it helps that we have the same tastes. We love being together and knew we could work together.
