Hamptons Nightlife: Manhattan Transfers, Summer 2010

by BILLY GRAY · April 23, 2010

[Dune 2009]. As the season of unbearable humidity and LIE traffic jams approaches, it's time we update our long-running "tag team summer" feature for Hamptons nightlife in 2010. What NYC Players are going to be out East this year and where will we be partying?

Team Avenue: Noah Tepperberg and the crew behind Avenue, Marquee and Tao will take their Dune Southampton. to the old Jet East address at 1181 North Sea Road in Southampton. But how will bespoke suit-fiend Wass Stevens adjust his wardrobe for balmier climes? Will Leonard DiCaprio make a repeat appearance and squander his Shutter Island paycheck on bottle service? Get ready for more from AXE Lounge.

Team EMM: These guys are throwing Saturday night parties at East Hampton party spot Georgica. Hopefully they'll continue last year's Monday night prix fixe dinner and drink special, which topped out at a very un-Hamptons $25.

    -

Team Provocateur (fka Team Stereo): The semi-isolated Lily Pond is entering its 3rd round in the East End party circuit ring. Provocateur has steadily built a reputation for hosting big-name events since it opened in December. We'll see if Lily Pond can keep up that momentum.

    -

Team Cain/Gold Bar: Jamie Mulholland's and Jayma Cardosa's Surf Lodge was among the first to ride Montauk's new wave when it debuted back in Summer '08. The restaurant and hangout, beloved by scenesters and cursed by locals, will have to step up its game to fend off new competition. Surf Lodge concert series should help.

    -

Team Foodie: Navy Beach is yet another Montauk venue looking to drag Hamptons kids alllll the way East. With veterans of blockbuster restaurants Nick & Toni's and Asia de Cuba at the helm, expect Navy Beach to leave its mark on The End.
