Insecure and Shiona: Shiona Turini is a consultant, stylist, and costume designer for HBO's hit show Insecure, written by and starring Issa Rae. A must-watch for just about everyone in their 20s, it’s relatable and hilarious, with such an authentic, beautifully written storyline. The wardrobe for season four is by far the most impressive. Sentiments of change trickled down into the cast’s clothing choices as each character explores the ups and downs of love, family, betrayal, and societal expectations. Shiona said in a recent interview, “I’ve always been very focused on the narrative that our clothing takes.” Before taking on Hollywood, Turini was the accessories editor at W magazine (no wonder her characters are always perfectly accessorized).
