Roaring Twenties
The Back Room has its roots in a real speakeasy in the 1920s. The owners have embraced the authenticity by shielding the true entrance with a derelict toy shop. Chandeliers and flickering candlelight transport visitors to twenties Lower East Side, while velvet upholstery is reminiscent of Gatsby's East Egg. Drinks are served in teacups and brown bags.
Film Pairings: The Back Room easily could have been used to film scenes from Midnight in Paris. The Great Gatsby is the most obvious choice for a true follow up to a trip to the Back Room.
