Provocateur (2009-2017)
Michael Satsky’s Meatpacking spot was known for its exclusivity, gals-to-guy ratio, and see-and-be-seen crowd. If you were able to get past the notoriously tough door, you’ll remember Provocateur’s light and smoke shows, thumping music, and 20-foot-tall Egyptian phoenix wing bar sculptures. Over the years, the DJ booth welcomed the likes of Tiesto and the late Avicii. In early 2019, Page Six teased a comeback for the brand in the form of a “Provocateur Café,” but information has been tight.
