Gloria Guinness
Similar to Capote, Gloria Guinness embodied the rags to riches fairytale. Born in Mexico, she grew up in poverty but married well (many times) and often tried to hide her true origins. She was wed four times, each time to a man of high prominence. She was well-known for her fashion prowess and even wrote for Harper’s Bazaar. In 1962 she was voted “Best Dressed Woman in the World” by TIME Magazine. She often wore famous couture designers including Dior, Chanel, Givenchy, Balenciaga and Schiaparelli.
