On her mom-shaming experience:
At the risk of keeping it real, I lost my husband three years ago and I am now in a same-sex relationship. As a result, I have been criticized on social media for not getting remarried to a man to provide a father for my son. People have come right out and said that two women can’t be good parents and I am a bad mother for subjecting my son to homophobia and an even “harder” life. My girlfriend is an extraordinary co-parent and we are raising a son to identify the difference between right and wrong. Once he is old enough to understand, he will be able to recognize that homophobia is either reserved for the ignorant or those in need of help and my son is so empathetic, he will likely try to help them be better versions of themselves.

On how the motherhood community can improve:
We can start by giving mothers in need the necessities they need to provide for their children! It’s insane that there are children in our world that don’t have diapers or lunch!
